The Gap
The Gap: Coursera planner - improve planning/scheduling for your Coursera courses
Schedule and monitor Coursera study progress, for multiple courses simultaneously. Keep track of all your Coursera tasks and milestones.
My personal experience
A coursera course site is limited to a single course. Course schedule and task information of the course is often distributed over several pages on the site.
Most courses require a heavy workload with several tasks (lectures, assignments, programming, ..) following a weekly cadans. To be successful you have to schedule all your course tasks carefully and ensure you free up enough time for all the study work.
When you are following 3 or more courses simultaneously you need a tool to manage this, where within a single view all the schedule informaton of your current courses is avaialble.
Access to 5 people who also experience the gap
These people will be easy to find on the course forum.
If I cannot meet them physically we will setup a skynet call or Google hangout.
Are you, like me, one these Coursera addicts in need for a scheduling tool? Let me know (post a comment on the blog or send me a mail), I am happy to welcome you as one of the 5 (+?).
Designing a prototype
The most obvious tools to build a prototype during this course are Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Visio.
An online webtool and/or smartphone app does not fit in the scope of this course but might be an idea for a next phase.
My personal interest
I work as a freelance IT project management consultant and as such have experience and interest in scheduling and task monitoring tools.
